CSEA Developmental Disabilities Workers Honored

An innovative Labor-management expedited resolution process at Finger Lakes DDSO was recognized as one of the the Governor's 2005 Workforce champions. The process was started in 2001 with an eye toward streamlining the settlement of disciplinary cases. Since the inception, CSEA has estimated its savings at over $150,000. The facility has also saved a similar amount.

President Donohue and OMRDD Commissioner Thomas Maul attended the recognition ceremony in Albany which honored the Finger Lakes DDSO team. Maul stated that not only is New York's developmental disabilities system a model for the nation but the agency's relationship with CSEA is a model for labor-management working together for quality care.

Local 436 officers are busy at work.  The daily schedule is always hectic with phone calls, updates and members wanting information regarding their insurances, employee benefits and contract articles.  We are also on a variety of committees such as the NYS Partnership that benefits our members as well as the LPN program.
