Memorial Dedication

On a cold, dark day in April, a ceremony was held at the Monroe Developmental Center of the Finger Lakes DDSO.  More than 150 facility residents and staff, many of them CSEA members, were joined by CSEA President Danny Donohue, OMRDD Commissioner Thomas Maul, and other union leaders in a solemn, bagpipe-led procession to honor the memory of those lost or injured on the job.  "This ceremony is also to honor you, for the heroic work you do every day," said Donohue to the facility CSEA members who care for the developmentally disabled throughout 10 counties. "Your efforts are part of what helps make our State work force the best it can be, and we won't quit seeking safety improvements for you, because you deserve it."

  Workers Memorial Day

Finger Lake DDSO recognized its fallen workers today April 28th during the Workers Memorial Day Ceremony. The event took place at the DDSO, where 2 lilac bushes were planted by the HRMO entrance, to commemorate the workers. All labor organizations were present and had short speeches on remembering our fallen staff, and not forget our armed forces who are serving all over the world to preserve our freedom.  Labor and management here at the FLDDSO continue to keep the workplace safe and secure, for all staff and the people we serve alike.

“Thanks” goes out to all the departments and staff that make these events happen. The sense of “Family” is always heartfelt here.
